Soft cut follows a basic principle of yeilding to the shape of the body. Minimising stress on sensitive parts of the body and improving the
smoothness of fit.
So far, the Missing Jean Project identifies a number of problems and suggests a number of solutions.
The principle can be used to re-model existing pieces or to cut from scratch by altering patterns.
And it's not limitted to jeans. Soft cutting has been applied to tailored trousers, skirts, dresses and there is a special solution which takes the form of a cheeky culotte cut from one piece. It's named the ‘Bopalop’
